SANJIESAN LICENSING / BUYING GUIDE

Does the partner page need editing or a new story brief?

A partner page can feel unfinished for several reasons. The sentences may be difficult to read, the reader’s main question may be unanswered, or the team may not yet know what story it wants to tell. Identify the gap before commissioning writing work. Each problem calls for a different conversation about scope, inputs and review.

Mark the gap in the current page

Read the page as a newcomer and write the question each section answers. Mark a difficult sentence separately from a missing fact. If an established name or relationship is uncertain, send that question to the content owner rather than asking an editor to make a plausible replacement. Keep the existing source notes available so the service provider can improve expression without reconstructing the property from promotional fragments.

Ask for a scope that names the editorial work

For editing, ask whether the quote covers structure, sentence-level revision, terminology consistency or proofreading. For story development, ask what brief and creative decisions the provider expects from the team, and which proposed outputs require content approval. Use a small representative passage to discuss the approach. Keep any optional research or translation distinct so it is clear which tasks the quoted service will actually perform.

Choose work that leaves the page more accurate and usable

Agree on how the result will be reviewed: a newcomer can identify the proposal, fixed names remain correct and any new claims have an explicit basis. Preserve the revision so the team can see what changed. A Sanjiesan creative-partnership enquiry can include the current passage and its specific reader problem. The useful purchase is work that addresses that gap, not additional promotional paragraphs added merely to make the page longer.
