SANJIESAN LICENSING / Packaging communication

Read the packaging front from where a customer would stand

A packaging front viewed on a large monitor can feel clear while its printed version is difficult to read. For an early review, print or display the proposal at the intended size and consider the way it will be encountered. This is a communication exercise, separate from any required regulatory or production review.

Give the front one recognition task

Write what a viewer should understand first: the type of object, a particular collection or the leading visual. Place the rough at a distance that represents the proposed setting, clearly recording that it is an exercise rather than a measured retail study. Ask someone unfamiliar with the layout to describe it. Do not explain the design before hearing which information was actually noticed.

Check the move from recognition to detail

Move closer and look for the practical information that belongs on the proposal: object format, included pieces or another agreed descriptor. Keep this text distinct from a story line or slogan. If the same visual weight is given to every element, reduce the number of competing messages. Preserve exact approved names while editing the surrounding wording; shortening a name to fit a box can create a different identification problem.

Review the front together with its next surface

A front does not need to carry the entire explanation. Open the flat layout and identify where a viewer would naturally look next for context. Check that the story or diagram continues coherently rather than repeating the front word for word. Record any unresolved wording against its specific panel. This helps the next reviewer answer a precise question without treating a polished overall render as approval of every sentence.
