SANJIESAN LICENSING / Partner presentations

Can the partner deck explain the proposal without you in the room?

A deck may work during a lively call because its author supplies all the missing context aloud. The same file can become confusing when forwarded to another team. Review it once as a stand-alone document. This does not mean filling every slide with text; it means making the proposal’s central argument recoverable without a private explanation.

State the proposal before the background

Put the proposed work, intended audience and reason for the approach near the beginning. Separate an existing property description from a new commercial idea. If a product visual is a concept, label it where it appears. Avoid relying on a final-page disclaimer to correct an opening slide that looks like an already launched collaboration. The reader should understand the status before considering the details.

Give each claim the support it actually has

Read the slide titles as a sequence. For each claim, identify whether it is an observation, a planning assumption or a supported statement about the property. Remove invented audience counts, partner names or performance claims. A plain explanation of why the concept might fit can be more credible than a chart with fictional market numbers. Keep source notes close enough that a later reader can identify what they support.

End with an answerable request

Ask for one suitable next step, such as a discussion of category fit or feedback on a selected concept direction. Include the minimum questions the recipient needs to route the proposal internally. Test the deck with someone who has not heard the talk and ask them to summarise the requested decision. If they cannot, revise the request before adding more background slides or visual effects.
