SANJIESAN LICENSING / Property identification
Name the property version before asking about availability
KADOKAWA’s FAQ asks enquirers to identify a title and media format when asking about properties not featured on its portal. That is its own published process, not a Sanjiesan partnership or a universal rule. It offers a useful prompt: make the version you mean identifiable before asking another team to assess a proposal.
Write the reference as the other team would recognise it
Record the exact title or character name from an official source and identify the particular material the proposal concerns. Include a source link rather than attaching an unrelated fan image as identification. If the team has mixed references from different versions, separate them before writing the concept summary. That makes the open question visible instead of asking the recipient to infer which property treatment is intended.
Keep the source material separate from the proposal
Place the existing reference in one area and the new intended use in another. A scene, costume or promotional illustration used for discussion should keep its own identifier. For Sanjiesan, retain the established character identity separately from any artwork treatment. This separation allows a reviewer to say which reference is understood and which proposed adaptation still needs discussion, without accepting the whole mood board as one package.
Ask a question that can be routed
Send the identified reference, intended activity and outstanding version question through the appropriate official route. Keep the result as an enquiry until the relevant party responds. Do not describe a publicly visible catalogue entry as an available licence or a relationship with the rights holder. A precise question reduces avoidable confusion while leaving the actual availability decision with the party qualified to make it.
